Frequently Asked Questions

What is a children’s consignment sale?

A children’s consignment sale is a GREAT way for you to rid your home of the things your children or grandchildren have outgrown and earn some money. We are not a garage sale since you do not have to be present during the sale to sell your items. We sell items on your behalf and handle everything from the venue and advertising to merchandising and promotion. It is a fantastic opportunity to buy excellent quality children’s clothing, toys, and more at amazing prices.

Do I have to pay admission to the sale or parking?

There is no charge for admission during the Public Sale days or parking on any of our public shopping days at any of our sales. There is a $5 entry fee collected at the door for Hero Day ONLY.

How often do you have Sweet Repeats Sales?

We have sales twice a year, in the spring and in the fall.

Is the sale located indoors?

Our sale will be held at the Dickson County YMCA (rear part of the building) 225 Henslee Drive Dickson, TN 37055

What form of payment does Sweet Repeats accept?

We accept all major credit cards, Venmo, PayPal, debit cards & cash. There is a small processing for PayPal and credit/debit cards. We DO NOT accept personal checks.

What brands and sizes can I find?

Chances are, you can find a little bit of everything! We consistently have brands such as Abercrombie, Gap, Aeropostale, Gymboree, Nike, Coach, etc. and we never know what will turn up! As to sizes, each sale accepts sizes from infants through Juniors and Maternity. Every sale is different and unique, so shop early to make sure you get the best deals!

Are children allowed on opening day?

Yes, children are allowed at the sale but they MUST remain with you at all times! PLEASE use good judgment when you bring them as this day of the sale is usually VERY busy. Toys and other fun merchandise are available at the sale but are not for use by little ones. These items are the property of the consignors and cannot be sold if pieces or tags are lost or separated. It’s also very important for your child’s safety!

Can I bring a stroller?

Yes, you may bring a stroller, but be aware that the sale can get very crowded during peak shopping times. We suggest bringing your SMALLEST stroller. Most parents find it easier to bring a list of sizes and leave their children home, but if you do bring them, they must remain with you at ALL TIMES! Also, all bags, strollers, wagons, etc will be searched upon departure of the sale.

Will someone be available to help me load large pieces if I purchase it?

We do have wonderful volunteers that are always available to help with most items, but we cannot guarantee that we will have the “manpower” to load very large items. If you do not have someone with you that can help you load, then we will gladly give you a pick-up ticket, mark your items “sold” on the floor, and you can return the next day with extra help to load your item.

What are these discount sale times I’ve heard about?

Sweet Repeats has a special half-price sale time. On the final days of our sale, you can buy any item that has no red dot on its tag at 50% off its original price! Tags WITH red dots are not included in the discount sale. But all items with NO DOTS are included!

Are there any last-minute tips I should know?

Yes! Bring a list of the items you hope to find. Sometimes when you walk in and see all the bargains, your mind goes “poof!” and it helps to have that list handy for reference. Also, get to the sale as early as you can! The best deals are the ones that go first, so shop early and also shop often! Sweet Repeats features a 50% OFF day at the end of the event, so don’t miss those extra, last-minute savings! Here’s more info about what to bring:

  • Comfy Clothes and Shoes Searching for bargains at a Sweet Repeats Sale can make for a good workout! Casual, comfortable clothes and shoes are standard sales event attire!

  • Your Sizing List(s) A list of your child’s measurements is helpful as well as a tape measure and a cut-out of your child’s foot. Some shoppers even bring pieces of yarn cut to the size of their children’s legs for correct sizing.

  • Basket or Laundry Tub Bring a laundry basket or tub to put your items in while you shop. We do have large shopping bags available to use while shopping.

  • Accepted Forms of Payment Visa, MasterCard, Discover, debit cards, and cash are accepted at all sales. We no longer accept personal checks.

Are all sales final?

The short answer is “yes.” The reason being, we hold our events, and then we pay our consignors for those items that have been purchased. This allows us to honor our commitment to be good stewards of the trust placed in us as the event host. We ask that you please inspect and test all the goods before you pay and leave the building. If you need help testing an item, please ask, and we will be happy to assist you. Sweet Repeats is not able to refund or exchange because once the event ends, all items are donated or returned to consignors, which ends our selling period with them. If you have purchased an item and decide it doesn’t suit your tastes (or perhaps it makes really loud noises which you didn’t realize you don’t like until you got it home), you are more than welcome to sell your functioning, gently-used items with us at the next sales event!

Can Sweet Repeats make money grow on trees?

No, but it will seem that way as your dollars go so much further than they do at retail stores. With savings as high as 50-90%, once you shop Sweet Repeats, you’ll never go back for retail prices!

How can I shop early?

Our sellers and volunteers shop first. Sellers must register online at MyConsignment Manager and consign a minimum of 25 acceptable items for the children’s sale. Once registered, sellers can volunteer to work different shifts during the sale and shop even earlier! More information can be found on our How to Consign page or our Volunteer Information page.

I’ve had so much fun shopping! Can I sell my items, too?

Yes, you can! To sell your items, create an account using our online tagging system, MyConsignment Manager. Just go to MyConsignment Manager, set up an account, and begin tagging your items. More information can be found on our How to Consign page.
